Where to pick up my rental car?


You will pick up your car at the location printed on your booking confirmation. Your booking confirmation will be emailed to you after your reservation has been booked, kindly check your email’s inbox (or your email's spam folder).

Please be sure you give us the expected time that you plan to pick up your rental car, so we can guarantee to have a car ready for you. You can change your booking if needed. For instance, change your pick-up time, order a carseat, GPS etc.

How to pickup my rental car at Kastrup Airport?


1. After leaving customs, please follow the signs to the Car Rental Centre.


2. Exit Terminal 3 either over the pedestrian bridge or cross the street, walk to the bus stop next to the Clarion hotel where the shuttle bus runs every 10 minutes.


3. The bus will take you directly to our partner Sixt’s office, located in the Car Rental Centre just a few minutes drive from the bus stop.

If you want to skip the bus it is also possible to walk with your luggage cart to the Car Rental Centre located about 1 km (3300 ft.) from the terminal

What is fast track?


Do you want the convenience of a quick check-in and out, you can make an add on to your booking by choosing to use our fast track option and pick up your car and the key without even have to leave the airport.

How to use it:

Choose Fast Track Pickup in EXTRAS when you make your reservation for a cost of DKK 195 / EUR 26.


Fast track pick-up:

  • Go to 1st floor, parking house P7 (Follow the sign towards the metro st.))
  • Open the keybox, provided by our partner Sixt, get your key and find your parking space - follow instructions in the email/text you received from our partner Sixt
  • Use the plastic parking card inside your car to exit the parking house (leave this card inside your car as you will need it to re-enter the parking house upon return)


Fast track return

  • Enter parking house P7 by using the plastic parking card
  • Park in our partner Sixt parking spot on the 1st floor
  • Return your keys to the Sixt keybox - use the email/text your received from our partner Sixt
  • Within 48 hours you will receive your condition report by email

Payment & Contract

  • 3 days before your rental starts, you will get an email from our partner Sixt with a link to link to their homepage where you will enter your personal information and apply your payment
  • The day your rental starts, you will receive an email from our partner Sixt, where you will sign your contract electronically




How do I pay?


We do not collect credit card information at the time of your booking. You will pay at the rental counter when you pick up your car provided by Sixt. The payment card you use must be in the name of the renter. We do not accept cash.

We accept all credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/MasterCard, and Visa Debit cards: MasterCard Debit and Visa Electron are ONLY accepted for car groups smaller than Opel Insignia, VW Passat, Peugeot 508 or similar size and max 30-day rental.

At the rental counter, a deposit will be held on your card to ensure that you have ample funds to cover you in case of the following instances: the car is returned later than agreed due to the contract, a gasoline fill-up is needed, a speeding/parking ticket or toll needs to be paid on your behalf.

Deposit amounts held are:

  • 2500 DKK: Hyundai i10, VW UP, Opel Corsa, Hyundai i20, VW Polo, or similar size
  • 3500 DKK: BMW or similar size
  • 15.000 DKK: Porsche or similar size

Deposits will be returned as follows:

  • American Express 3 days
  • Visa 7 days
  • MasterCard 14 days




How to pick up my rental car at: Billund, Aarhus and Aalborg airport?


After exiting customs, follow the signs to our partner Sixt rental car counter at the airport.

What is included?


Unless otherwise stated, the rates include free kilometers on rentals up the 30 days, insurance with DKK 0,- in deductible and VAT. We do recommend that to read and understand your rental contract before signing it, when you receive your rental car.




What document are needed upon pick up?


You must bring your driver's license and personal credit card. It is always the primary driver of the car whose credit card is to be paid for the rent - other people's credit cards are not accepted. If you need to rent a car in the category X, P, e.g. BMW 5 Series, Mercedes or Porsche, then it is a requirement that you bring 2 credit cards. If you have a SIXT card, it is always an advantage for you to bring this, as the expedition will go faster.

If you need to add an extra driver to your contract, you need to bring the extra driver's original driving license with you when you pick up the car. Copy or scan by email is not accepted. The extra driver can not show up without the first driver / payer of the rental being physically present, as it is at all times the first driver / payer of the rental who has to sign a new rental contract on which it is approved that an extra driver is added.




Where can I drive?


You can drive your rental car outside of Denmark to many countries including Sweden, Norway, and Germany. There is additional fee of DKK 50 per day to drive outside Denmark (with a maximum total charge of DKK 200).

The vehicle may not be used to drive in the following countries: Great Britain, Moldova, Belarus, Cyprus, Iceland, Malta, Albany, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Russia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and Corsica.




What about insurance?


You will carry the same insurance that you selected when you made your reservation as long as you drive only in countries you’re allowed to drive in (see exclusion list above). For more info please find chapter about insurance.




Is a international drivers license needed?


The renter and the driver must be in possession of a valid driving license. Please remember to select your "permanent country of residence" when booking.

An international driver's license is NOT required unless you have a license printed in non-Roman alphabet letters (for example Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.). Driving licenses printed with non-Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be complemented by an international driving license.




Can I drive on toll roads?


You can pay as you pass through tolls. If you do not pay, the toll will be automatically billed to your credit card. Denmark has 1 toll bridge in the country, 1 leaving Denmark and entering Sweden, Norway has several toll roads.




Is border cards required?


A border card is not required to enter Norway, Sweden, Germany, or any other country you are allowed to travel in.




May I smoke in the car?


Smoking is not permitted in the car. If the car is returned and we register that it has been smoked in, there will be an extra fee for cleaning of DKK 2500,-




Am I allowed to have pets in the car?


For reasons of allergens and hygiene, it is unfortunately not permitted to transport animals in the car. If the car is returned with signs of transport of animals a fee for extra cleaning of DKK 2500,- will be charged.




Do I have to provide fuel by myself?


Yes. When you pick up your Danish car rental, provided by Sixt. rental car, it is fully refueled. So, when you return the car to our partner Sixt again, it must be with a full tank, otherwise a fee of DKK 29 / liter up to a full tank will be charged. We always recommend that you hand in your rental car fully refueled, so if necessary. fuel fees are avoided or when you pick up the car you buy "Prepaid fuel" which is an additional service offer.




What kind of fuel do I need to use?


Our Partner Sixt has a fleet of both diesel and petrol engine cars. So, it is very important that you know what type of fuel that the rental car uses. If you add the wrong type of fuel, it destroys the engine and there is no insurance coverage in such incidences. On all cars, there will be a sign next to the tank, telling you which fuel to use.




How old do I have to be to drive a rental car?


Minimum age in Denmark for renting at Sixt is 20.

Minimum age and possession of a valid driving licence in Denmark is:

  • 20 years/1 years for vehicle groups M***, E**, A, V
  • 23 years/1 year for vehicle groups C***, I***
  • 25 years/3 year for car group: B, F***, P***, S***, X***

A Young Driver Surcharge of DKK 118,75 per rental applies for drivers under 26 years.




Can someone else other than myself drive the vehicle?


Yes, they can, but you must pay an additional driver's insurance and the driver's license must be presented at time of rental.

Should you wish to add an additional driver to the rental agreement it is mandatory for the primary driver to be physically present at the rental station. This is due to regulations requiring the primary driver’s signature.




Can I take a vehicle from one location and leave at another?


One-way rentals are available between some branches. The amount charged for the one-way rental is shown in the Extras and Conditions pages of our online quotation pages.




Can I extend my rental agreement?


An extension of your rental agreement is usually possible unless your rented car is sold and needs to be returned.

On short-term rentals (less than 27 days) the agreement can be extended with 7 days in total; 3 of these days can be done via the phone if we are able to make a reservation/authorization on the amount of the new rental price right away. In order to extend it more than 3 days you must visit one of our rental stations. They will be able to extend the agreement the additional 4 days.

For long-term rentals, the agreement can be extended to a maximum of 180 days al together – you can extend it with maximum 3 days via the phone. Any additional extension must be done at a Sixt station where an updated rental agreement must be signed.




What is "Car on request"?


"Send Request" and "On Request" means that the car category you're trying to book is in short supply and so the reservation must be handled manually.

Please allow 2 business days for the reservation to be processed manually. Then you will receive either a "Booking Confirmation" or "Booking Declined" email.




Can I book car seats and baby seats?


Child seats, baby seats, and booster seats are available and listed under "Extras" when you are making a reservation. It is a good idea to order ahead of time, but you can also request them at the pick-up counter in Denmark.

If you forgot to request child seats while booking, you can add it to your reservation before picking up. After you make your changes, you will receive an email confirmation, check your email's inbox (or your email's spam folder).

If you are not able to modify your booking, it may be because you are also trying to change important information such as the driver’s last name.




What about winter tires?


In the winter season (November 1st - April 1st) winter tires can be added as an "extra" when you are making your reservation online.




Who should I call if my car is experiencing mechanical breakdown


In case of breakdown or similar complications with your rental car, you are assured of help within 45 minutes. Please call our customer service at +45 69 16 16 95

Should you experience a major damage on your car, meaning the car is not able to drive, you must contact” SOS” on phone +45 79 42 46 95.

When experiencing any damage on the rental car you must fill out the damage report. This can be acquired by contacting your rental office or our service center on phone +45 69 16 16 95.
